Where is my order?

If you have an outstanding order—first of all, thank you! As previously noted on the website, shipping was paused starting around March 14 and is set to resume on March 28. We experienced a delay at customs due to new tariffs, and our inventory and equipment took some extra time to arrive.

As of March 31 we have resumed manufacturing and shipping. If all components of your product are in stock, we are shipping as fast as we can. If we are waiting on raw materials and your order is affected, we’ll contact you about your order.

If you are placing a new order, those should ship in 1-2 weeks assuming all products/components are in stock.

How are you handling Canadian orders, shipping costs, duties/tariffs?

This will be a developing topic but for the time being we are covering duties/tariffs for customers who placed their orders prior to April 15, 2025 under the assumption that there were no tariffs. Orders on or after April 15th, 2025 are responsible for any duties. Any changes to that will be communicated here and/or on the homepage.

Longer-term, we’re looking for a solution that respects the loyal Canadian customer base. This may take the form of regional pricing, new shipping options, sharing of duties, etc. We’ll communicate more as we dive in and better understand the business.

Why did you purchase Precision Colors?

The short answer is that Mike built a fantastic little business with a loyal customer base and I think I can carry on that legacy. As I’ve learned in the first few weeks of ownership, it’s no easy task but I appreciate the support I’ve already received from the community.

The longer answer is that I wasn’t expecting to. Mid last year I was let go from my previous full-time position and was helping my wife at our other business. She needed more ink and I went to re-order and had a hard time finding the Precision Colors site and once on the site the user experience isn’t particularly modern. I reached out to Mike to understand why, hoping I could help him rebuild his site. Mike shared that he was looking to retire and the rest is history.

When did Precision Colors transfer to a new owner?

March 14, 2025

Where are you located and can I come visit?

We’re now in the suburbs of Chicago, IL but do not have a public storefront. At this time we will not be inviting visitors but if you’d like to pickup your order, please reach out to our support email with the request. In some instances we may be able to support that.

Will formulations change?

No. Mike built his business on having inks that best matched the OEM suppliers and there’s no reason we’d want to change that. The only thing we can think of is if a supplier of ours forces a change upon us. If that case arises, we’ll communicate that to our users and develop a plan to continue providing the most accurate inks.

Will prices increase?

Transparently, it is quite likely that we will eventually raise the prices. Before we do that we will communicate to customers and allow an opportunity to purchase pre-price increases.

Behind the price increase are a number of factors including: increased costs of raw materials, increased transportation costs, and tariffs.

What ARE you changing?

We really want to learn the business these first few months and get back to shipping orders in 1-2 days. But eventually we want to look at updating the branding, implementing a new and more modern website, and increase/improve communication (for those that want it).

We also want to increase community engagement, add support for new printers, shipping to more countries and more. If you have ideas/feedback, do not hesitate to reach out to us.

I don't see my question here, how do I get help?

Reach out to support@precisioncolors.com and we'll try to get back to you ASAP. Right now, most responses are taking 3-5 days.
