The 225/226 cartridges are totaly opaque and does not allow the refiller to see what the ink levels are and is not very refiller friendly. The Canon 220/221 series of cartridges have identical fit to the 225/226 cartridges but have a clear window to allow viewing of ink levels. You can transfer the 225/226 chips to the 220/221 bodies and gain the functionality of the clear window.
There is a choice of cartridges. Raw Recycled cartridges are physically inspected and require flushing for reuse. The other choice is Ready to Refill and comes properly flushed of the old ink with Low Clearance clearance plugs, storage clips and Canon 225/226 chips preinstalled. These are by far the best solution.
