A note from Matt, owner of Precision Colors.
When I took over Precision Colors from Mike in 2025, I promised not to ruin a good thing. The first job was to learn the business and keep the ink the same. With the new website live, I want to share what we are working on next.
New printers: PRO-1100 and PRO-310 first
The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 and PRO-310 are the two printers we have our eyes on first.
- We develop our inks in house. That means we are taking our time to get the colors right.
- Color accuracy matters just as much as price. An ink that saves you money but does not match is not a saving.
- We will announce each ink set here when it is ready, not before.
Want to hear first? Sign up on the PRO-1100 or PRO-310 page and we will email you when the ink is ready.
In the meantime, we continue to support the printers they replace. See our PRO-1000 inks and PRO-300 inks.
More rigor behind every bottle
Mike built this business on inks that match. Our job is to make that repeatable and measurable. We are adding:
- A QA process for the inks we make.
- Documented SOPs, so every batch is made the same way.
- Tooling and software to measure and quantify our color accuracy, so we are working from numbers and not only from eyes.
International shipping is here
We tested the waters with customers outside the U.S. who reached out to us, and it went well. With the new website, you can now order from Canada and most other countries right at checkout.
See International & Canada Shipping for the options, delivery times and how duties work.
Pricing
Neither Mike nor I have raised prices in more than five years, while costs have gone up pretty much everywhere.
- We know price is a big part of why people look for aftermarket ink in the first place.
- We will only make adjustments where they are truly needed.
- We are not planning across-the-board increases.
A note for our Canadian customers
Precision Colors started outside Toronto, and many of our longest-standing customers are in Canada. We know that moving the business to the U.S. was not what you wanted, and that shipping now costs you more.
We understand this company's heritage. We are making every effort we can to keep pricing reasonable for Canadian customers, to help offset those higher shipping costs. One example: Canadian orders can now ship with duties and taxes included, so there is no surprise bill at the door.
What is not changing
The formulations. If a raw material ever becomes unavailable and forces a change, we will tell you.
Tell us what you need
Much of this list came from customers. If there is a printer you want us to support, or something we should do better, let us know.
