Collection: Canon Pro-300 Ink Refill

All PFI-300 colors used in the PRO-300 are pigment inks, and our PFI-300 inks are pigment based to match. The set covers all ten PRO-300 colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Photo Black, Photo Cyan, Photo Magenta, Red, Gray, Chroma Optimizer and Matte Black.

Red is supplied as genuine Canon PFI-300R ink, bottled for refilling. The other nine colors are Precision Colors inks.

No modification is needed. Place ink on the outlet pad of the cartridge and let it draw the ink in. Keep going until it stops absorbing, or until the cartridge weighs about 32.5 grams.

A digital scale makes this precise, and we consider one a necessity for the PRO-300. If you fill by eye until the cartridge stops absorbing, remove the excess ink before you reinstall it.

Refill original Canon cartridges. Buy new ones rather than used, because a tank that has been left open to dry is very hard to restore.

Before each fill, gently agitate the bottle or rotate it end over end a number of times so the pigment is evenly mixed.

No. There is no resetter and no aftermarket chip for the PRO-300. After you refill a tank and put it back, the printer shows support code 1699. Hold the lower round button on the right side of the printer for 5 seconds and printing continues.

This happens once per color. After that the printer no longer shows an ink level for that color, so you track refills yourself with a tally counter or a calendar.

Use a tally counter from the first refilled tank. Count one click per letter size print and three per 13 x 19 print, and start with 24 clicks as your refill trigger.

When any tank runs empty, refill it, top off every tank you have already refilled, and reset the counter. Any time the lid is open, top off everything.

Yes. We offer free custom ICC profiles for the PRO-300 with our inks.

Profiles are accurate once every tank has been refilled at least once, and ideally twice. Until then, leftover Canon ink mixes with ours and shifts color. Let prints dry for 24 hours before you judge color or mount them.

If a cartridge will not accept ink, or will not take its full volume, the spring mechanism may be stuck or air may have entered the bladder. Servicing the cartridge usually fixes it.

If ink pools on the pad and never soaks in, the pad is likely clogged with dried pigment. The dependable fix is to replace that cartridge.

Almost certainly not. Most print problems on refilled Canon printers come from a cartridge, not the printhead.

Run a nozzle check to find the color at fault. A cleaning cycle or two clears most streaks. If one color stays weak, service or replace that cartridge.
