Twenty years of formulating ink for people who actually print.
Precision Colors has been formulating high-performance aftermarket inks for Canon and Epson printers since 2005. We're a small company. We test every batch. We answer our own emails. And we still get a little obsessed every time a customer sends us a print they're proud of.

It started with one frustrated engineer.
Precision Colors was founded by Mike, a mechanical engineer who loved printing photographs as a hobby but didn't love paying OEM prices for ink. He started selling ink in 2005 with one goal: high-performance aftermarket bulk ink for people who refill their own cartridges.
Mike took color matching seriously. Instead of buying generic aftermarket ink and calling it a match, he did the matching himself, to a very high standard. Over the years he developed his own techniques to push the ink further, leading to the Signature Edition ink set for the Canon PIXMA PRO-10 and PRO-1 at the end of 2017. He then went back and improved earlier ink sets the same way.
Precision Colors stayed small and focused on the printers serious photo printers actually use, and built a loyal following of refillers along the way.
Why refillers have trusted us for two decades
Every shade, exactly as intended.
Our inks are color-matched against OEM and backed by free ICC profiles for your printer and paper, so prints come out the way you expect.
Made to work with your machine, not against it.
Precision Colors inks are formulated to be fully compatible with your printer's specifications. Clean feeds, consistent output, no buildup, just reliable performance print after print.
If it's not right, we'll make it right.
We stand behind every order. If something arrives damaged, wrong or missing, we replace it at no cost, and unopened items from US and Canadian orders can be returned within 30 days.

Not a newcomer. A maker.
We've been building ink sets for photo printers for over two decades, blending our own colors where it takes that to match OEM. Along the way we've served 10,000+ customers and filled nearly 50,000 orders. You won't find sets like ours anywhere else.
"I have been using Precision Color for several years. I refill my own Cannon cartridges. I am very pleased by their ink and support."

Matt's Story
I came to Precision Colors as a customer. My wife and I run No Cold Feet, a sock company, and we'd been buying Precision Colors ink there for years.
Before that, I spent 15 years at one company, most of it running a B2B SaaS and IoT platform. When that chapter ended and I was let go, I started helping my wife more at No Cold Feet. One day she asked me to reorder ink.
The Precision Colors website was showing its age. I'd learned a lot running No Cold Feet on Shopify, so I reached out to Mike to see if I could help him upgrade, and honestly, hoping to make a few extra bucks. Mike told me he was ready to be done. So I said, let's have a different conversation.
About six months later, in March 2025, I acquired the company. Now, almost exactly a year and a half later, things are running well and the new site you're reading this on is live.
The ink itself isn't changing. Mike's formulations are why we were customers in the first place. What I'm changing is everything around it: a faster website and checkout, tighter supply and ordering so we can hold the line on price, more batch-level quality control, and support for the printers you've been asking about.
Same ink. Better company around it.

What's Changing & What's Not
Same Ink. Better Company.

How long does it take to process an order?
Most orders ship within 2 to 3 business days. You'll get a tracking email the same night your shipping label is created. In the US, Standard Ground typically arrives 3 to 5 business days after that, and faster options are available at checkout.
Do you ship internationally?
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to Canada and to most other countries. Some Canada options include duties and taxes, so nothing is due on delivery. Everywhere else can choose International Standard (7 to 15 business days) or International Express (3 to 6 business days), and duties, taxes and any brokerage fees are paid on delivery. See our International & Canada Shipping guide for rates and details.
What is your return policy?
What is your return policy?
US and Canadian orders can return unopened items in resalable condition within 30 days of delivery. Opened bottles and items with broken seals can't be returned, and kits and ink sets need to come back complete. If something arrives damaged, email a photo to support@precisioncolors.com within 7 days and we'll send a replacement at no cost. Orders shipped outside the US and Canada are final sale. Full details are in our return policy.
Do you have ICC profiles for my printer?
Do you have ICC profiles for my printer?
Yes, and they're free. We build ICC profiles for our inks on popular papers for most of the printers we support, so your prints match what you see on screen. Find yours on our ICC profiles page.
