Cyan Refill Ink for Canon PRO-100 (CLI-42C)

All CLI-42 colors used in the Pro-100 are dye inks, and our PC42 Signature Edition ink set is dye based to match. The set covers all eight Pro-100 colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Photo Black, Photo Cyan, Photo Magenta, Gray, and Light Gray. These inks work in both the Pixma Pro-100 and Pro-100S.

That depends on which cartridges you are filling.

Original Canon cartridges do not have a fill port, so the first refill requires a one-time modification: use the ball removal tool included in some of the getting started kits. Once the cartridge is modified, you can fill it with ink and seal with the silicone plugs from the kit. From then on the cartridge is a modified cartridge, and every later refill is simple: pull the plug, fill, and re-insert it.

If you would rather not modify anything, you can purchase a set of aftermarket cartridges that already have a fill port. These are available on their own or as part of our getting started kits.

Either order works but we recommend resetting before you refill because it keeps ink off your hands and the resetter contacts.

While the chips on a Pro-100 can be disabled, we highly recommend using a resetter for two reasons:

1. Convenience: using the resetter lets you fill ink only when needed, instead of guessing and checking more often.
2. More accurate ink level estimates: when the chips are disabled, the printer estimates usage in 4 steps instead of a smooth curve.

They are spacers that sit between the printhead and cartridge to improve fit and seal. Most customers never need them, so start without them and only try them if a cartridge leaks or seats poorly.

Almost certainly not. The vast majority of issues can be cleaned up with a print head cleaning cycle or two.
